Here is the doc visit report from Lolo...Thanks Lolo - you so funny!
On the day that the cataracts are scheduled, Dr. Davis suggests that the
trach and GTube be changed out first, then have the cataract surgery.
He will check with Ty to see if she is in agreement doing it that way.
It's so that there will be less stress on Peggy's eyes. She's the
bionic woman..........just change out a body part when it wears out!
Would that we should all be so lucky. I can think of a few parts I
would like to replace. :)
He recommends that the Duoderm on Peggy's skin breakdown (okole) be
changed at least every 3 days. HCA nurses will take care of applying
it. Michelle said that they have been changing it mostly every day
because it gets rolled up from the pads and needs to be replaced anyway.
Ingrown toenails are to be cleaned with saline and then Neosporin
applied. HCA will take care of that as well. Catherine cleaned both
big toes and they looked much better afterwards. Try to keep toes
uncovered as much as possible. Some discussion regarding removing the
nails on those toes to avoid the problem all together. I suggested
amputation up to the knees, but nobody seemed to like that idea for some
reason...........hehehehehehe
Per Catherine, delivery of meds will be on Friday.
Peggy's eyes were very clear all day/night, but even so spelling was
difficult to impossible. Dr. Davis did the eye movement test, and Peggy
had a hard time moving her eyes. Almost no downward motion at all.
